Movie Review: 127 Hours (2010)

127 Hours is nerve-wracking thriller and intense movie that kept me at the edge of my seat.

The story is pretty simple: a mountain climber (James Franco) gets stuck in a canyon for more than five days. He contends with mother nature and himself to survive the ordeal. Director Danny Boyle takes this story and gives it the Academy Award-winning treatment and the result is a gem of a thriller.

If you ask me, the film is more than a survival movie, it's a psychological thriller. We see how one's thoughts run during a course of time where a person thinks he will die. We also see the basic instincts like hunger, sex, and self-preservation kick in desperate times.

James Franco is just terrific in the film and Danny Boyle continues his string of great movies. Regardless of the Oscar outcome, 127 Hours is a winner.
