Movie Review: Adele: Rise of the Mummy (2010)

Adele: Rise of the Mummy is a French movie that somehow made it to the Philippine shores. If you ask me, I'm wondering how and why it managed to here.

Don't get me wrong-- the movie is not bad. It's just a little too silly out for my sensibilities. The movie is based on the French comics The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec, and the heroine is positioned to be a French female Indiana Jones.

The film starts with a Pterodactyl in early 20th century Paris, then a journey in Egypt that moves back to Paris where we see mummies going about. If you ask me, the silliness reaches its peak when the mummies start , prancing around Paris. By the way, since the film was originally in French, the release here was dubbed in English, so folks will have to get used to voices that don't match the actors' mouth movements.

Adele: Rise of the Mummy is still a marginally enjoyable film that would probably appealing to nice film buffs.
