Movie Review: The Informant! (2009)
The Informant! is an annoying movie. Really.
But I'm not saying it's a bad movie-- as a matter of fact, I like how director Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Thirteen) maintains a style that has all that jazz and Matt Damon is likeable enough as a corporate executive who expects to be promoted as president of a company he exposes. At the end of the movie, I was just annoyed with how things turned out.
I guess there's a certain point in the movie where it just changes gears from a whistleblower tale into something else. It really starts off very direct to the point, throwing a few red herrings, then come the second half, it becomes a tale of an unreliable narrator.
With it's polish and nice way of telling the unfolding of events, The Informant! is a nice movie in its own right. it's just annoying.
