Movie Review: I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry

Hey, it's an Adam Sandler movie with a very interesting premise! What would happen if two straight male best friends get married?

The movie stretches this concept for over two hours and you feel would feel it. The comedy is very episodic and the movie zigzags between crude stereotype humor and an acceptance-themed story. Sandler and Kevin James play the title roles and you would think they were inspired by their respective roles in "Big Daddy" and "Hitch" respectively-- think a buddy comedy version of Brokeback Mountain.

I think this is a movie you would either love or hate. The comedy is very accessible and I was not surprised the theater was filled with laughs in number of scenes. But unlike 50 First Dates or Anger Management, this Adam Sandler movie's setting is nestled in a controversial topic of same sex marriage.

If you ask me, I didn't take the movie seriously and just went laughing along. After all, isn't that what a comedy movie is for?
